Hot Zones
Many of us get caught up in the quest to improve our bodies that we forget the parts that work just fine. As research on human pleasure centers piles up, the real question may be: is anything not an erogenous zone?Brain. Between 93 an 96 percent of women link sexual arousal to feeling connected to or loved by a partner.
Ears. Earlobes become engorged and more sensitive when a person is aroused.
Mouth. Mammals, lizards, and even some birds use their mouths in precoital play. For humans, the mouth acts as the gatekeeper for the rest of the body.
Armpits. Breast tissue extends under the arm, where the skin is thin and full or nerves. A 1953 study found that armpits are erotically sensitive for a small number of women, particularly when other body parts stimulated.
Clitoris. No surprise-94 percent of women said they experienced orgasm from clitoral stimulation, while 63 percent reported vaginal stimulation alone brought them to climax. The clitoris is the most densely innervated area of the human body
Feet. The feet-especially the soles-are full of nerve endings. This can make the area unbearably ticklish or a turn-on. Tantric practitioners believe that the big toe is an erogenous zone and that big-toe sucking (known as shrimping) can bring about orgasm in some women.
Eyes. Women are turned on by a far wider array of racy pictures than men are, including homosexual and bonobo chimpanzee sex. But researchers found that fashion missteps in the images (like bad hair) could dampen the mood.
Neck. Fine hairs increase nerve stimulation on the neck, so stroking, nuzzling, and even breath produce an erotic response. In the seventeenth century, priests were burned at the stake for breathing down women’s necks in order to drive them to ecstasy.
Breasts. A full 93 percent of women in a 2003 esquire magazine survey said they enjoyed having their breasts stimulated. in 1959, the Mayo clinic found that hair in the aureole increases sensitivity in breast tissue.
Back. During a 2004 study on back pain, 10 out of 11 women had an orgasm when a device electrically stimulate
